Fluorescent phycocyanin has the following advantages for fluorescent probes:
Jul 30, 2018

(1) a higher absorption coefficient in a wider spectral range.

(2) higher fluorescence yield in a wider PH range;

(3) their fluorescence does not disappear due to the existence of other biomolecules.

(4) good water solubility;

(5) when liquid or solid state is present, they are extremely stable and can be stored for a long time.

FPC is used as a marker to combine biotin, avidin, DNA molecule and a variety of monoclonal antibodies to make fluorescent probes. Its applications mainly include fluorescence microscopy, fluorescence activated cell classification, flow cytometry, fluorescence immunoassay, double color or polychromatic fluorescence analysis, and single molecule detection.
